I would be very careful about the use of the word "supported" in the context Microsoft's Office System 2003 Live Server". While it is true the Live Server supports a protocol based on SIP and SIMPLE, it has been so heavily extended that interworking with a pure SIMPLE client may be pointeless if, not strictly speaking, impossible.

Yes, you're right Nick, I was too gracious in my choice of words. Microsoft has not implemented a pure version of SIP/SIMPLE.
