Here's what has been going on in the world of shared spaces technology over the past day:
- The InfoWorld Test Center published a comparative product review of corporate portals, and handed the highest award to Plumtree. Plumtree is obviously delighted.
- Antepo announced that its Open Presence Networks System 4.0 supports IBM S/390 and zSeries mainframes. The Antepo OPN System 4.0 allows businesses to migrate away from consumer products and proprietary IM approaches to a secure, standards-based, scalable infrastructure. Companies can use the Antepo OPN System 4.0 to uniformly deploy Instant Messaging within their organization, to integrate with their directories and other collaboration platforms and to securely communicate with business partners and customers, while meeting security, management and compliance requirements. Antepo
- IM and presence players endorsed the server-to-server IM protocol (SSP) as defined by the Open Mobile Alliance. "Each of the companies believes that mobile operators and consumers will benefit from the deployment of SSP as the open standard for server-server interoperability. Mobile subscribers will be able to use Instant Messaging and Presence-enabled services with their friends or colleagues across various operators' domains. Service interoperability between operators is a key factor for commercial deployment success and revenues." OZ Communications (one of the supporters)
