- InstaColl, the Indian-based provider of a namesake collaboration product for co-editing of Office documents, has released InstaAssist, a remote customer help application, and plans to release a co-browsing tool "soon". Business Standard
- CourseForum released the first beta of CourseForum and ProjectForum 4.5, its collaborative learning and collaborative project management systems respectively. New features: major revamp of how RSS-based notification of changes work, and the ability to change the formatting of tables, among others. Available immediately. CourseForum
- EMC's Documentum division is working on four main technologies for inclusion in its product line: (1) auto-categorization of enterprise-wide content; (2) storage reclamation (for deleting redundant data on file systems); (3) improved rich media capabilities, such as VoIP support; and (4) greater security through DRM. - IBM previewed Weblog Preview, a blogging tool, that includes integrated search, security and predefined user roles, among others. Weblog Preview will work with Workplace 2.5 and Workplace Collaboration Services 2.5. IBM also introduced a blog component for its Workplace Designer 2.5, for release in August 2005. eWeek
- Liquid Systems, a stealth-mode startup in California that is focused on enterprise messaging and collaboration, hired the ex-CTO of BEA Systems. Liquid is aiming to replace Notes and Exchange in corporate accounts. The first demo of the Liquid stack will be made in early August at LinuxWorld. - Red Hat will resell the OpenXchange Server from OpenXchange, an email, calendar and document management offering. CBRonline
- TANDBERG integrated its video conferencing system with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server and Office Communicator, to enable users to launch TANGBERG video calls from within an Office application. Available July 2005. Streaming Media
