With the IM software it already owns via its Picasa acquisition, Google could create a service that combines social and local networking, photo-sharing, and geographic search and mapping. CNET News

- Condolences to Hassan and HumanWare. The founder and CEO of HumanWare (ex-Pulse Data) and his wife were killed in a light plane crash here in New Zealand over the past weekend. I just found out that Hassan Wong, who shared an office with me for six months during our MCom program at the University of Canterbury, was their son. My condolences to Hassan and all those affected by this tragedy. HumanWare
